Dr. John Rossi, DNP, PMHNP-BC

I am Dr. John Rossi. My nursing career began at Brigham Young University where I received a bachelors degree in science with a major in nursing studies and minor in gerontology. After graduation, I started working as a medical surgical nurse for the Air Force. During that time, I often cared for active duty, veterans, and their family members with mental health co-morbidities. I fell in love with mental health and the caregiver’s ability to influence and improve the overall well-being of a patient by understanding both the physical and mental aspects of care. I completed my doctoral degree at the University of Missouri and began my journey as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and nurse educator. I, like many of you now, was terrified by the certification process. I have extreme test anxiety and a tendency to overthink and over prepare for examinations. With that in mind, I wanted to be a part of a program that teaches students to focus on specific topics with purposeful learning in a fun and engaging manner.
